Championship record for Tsegay
On the women’s side at the World Indoor Championships from Nanjing, Gudaf Tsegay set a championship record for the 1500m, running 3:54.86 for the gold, which was also four and a half seconds ahead of second place finisher Diribe Welteji. In her world indoor debut, USA’s Claire Bryant won gold in the long jump with a personal best of 6.96m. Additional Team USA podium finishers include Alexis Holmes (400m silver), Shelby Houlihan (3000m silver), Chase Jackson (shot put bronze), Taliyah Brooks (pentathlon bronze), and the 4×400m relay team (gold).
USA men sweep 400m in Nanjing
For the men, the USA swept the 400m with the trio of Christopher Bailey, Brian Faust, and Jacory Patterson going 1-2-3. Grant Holloway and Josh Hoey each won gold in the 60m hurdles and 800m, respectively, with Holloway continuing his decade long winning streak in the event, and Hoey maintaining his undefeated 2025 season. Additional notable results from USA athletes include podium finishes from Luke Houser (1500m bronze), Sam Kendricks (pole vault bronze), Roger Steen (shot put silver), Tripp Piperi (shot put bronze), and the 4×400m relay team (gold).
Tyler Andrews to take on Everest FKT
Tyler Andrews plans to attempt a speed ascent of Mount Everest from the south side without supplemental oxygen, aiming to beat the disputed record of 20 hours and 24 minutes. Drawing from past FKTs on peaks like Manaslu and extensive high-altitude training, he is confident in his ability going into Everest, stating, “I think I can climb Everest as fast as 14-15 hours.”
Rachel Forsyth signs NIL deal with On
Forsyth, a freshman runner for Michigan State, has announced an NIL deal with On. She is both the Canadian U20 and school record holder for the 3000m (8:53.50), won the Big Ten cross country title, and with a 16th place finish at NCAA XC, a first-team All-American.
Allie Ostrander and Spencer Brown engaged
Allie Ostrander announced on Instagram that she and Spencer Brown got engaged. The couple shared celebratory photos with family, friends, and their pet dog Georgie.
