In FloTrack’s latest Workout Wednesday, we got the first look at Parker Valby with her new coach and training squad. Training with fellow Olympian’s Emily Mackay and Heather MacLean, Valby and the New Balance Boston team completed the workout on a 1k cross country-esque loop. Sanya Richards-Ross to make pitch on Shark Tank

Richards-Ross, with spouse Aaron Ross, will appear on ABC’s entrepreneurial pitch show Shark Tank. The duo will be showcasing, and hoping to secure funding for, their pajama and loungewear brand Coordinates. Grand Slam Track has announced ticket prices for their 2025 slate of events

Individual-day tickets are available in three categories at most of the meets: General Admission, Grandstand, and VIP (finish line). The meet in Kingston, Jamaica has the lowest introductory seat, at $10 for 1-day general admission, and the meeting in Los Angeles will command the highest price, at $31.89 for the same admission tier (less fees). The Grand Slam Track season kicks off in Kingston on April 4.

The IOC estimates 5 billion people watched the Paris Games

An International Olympic Committee (IOC) study revealed that the 2024 Paris Olympic Games reached an unprecedented global audience, with approximately five billion people—84% of the potential worldwide viewership—tuning in. This marks the highest-ever global audience for an Olympic event. The Games also saw a significant surge in social media engagement, with a 290% increase over Tokyo 2020, totaling 16.7 billion interactions across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook. Additionally, viewers worldwide watched 28.7 billion hours of Olympic footage, a 25% increase compared to the previous Games.

2024 was a banner year for TrackTown

The 2024 TrackTown season in Eugene generated an estimated $50 million in economic impact, with significant contributions from athletes, fans, and local businesses that showcased the city’s commitment to its track and field legacy. A Track & Field Roundtable fostered collaboration among key stakeholders, leading to initiatives like unified branding, community engagement, and enhanced participation, which culminated in record-breaking events and widespread community involvement. The Eugene Cascades & Coast Sports Commission received the Destination Branding and Marketing Campaign of the Year award, and preparations are already underway for an even more dynamic 2025 season featuring high-profile events like the NCAA Championships and the 50th Anniversary Prefontaine Classic.
