Lyles, Holloway, and Alfred to Headline New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
The trio of gold medalists from the Paris Games are slated to put on a show at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (NBIGP). Lyles and Holloway are three-time defending Grand Prix champions in the 60m and 60m hurdles, respectively. Alfred will be running at the NBIGP for the first time, scheduled to take place on February 2, 2025.
Julie Stackhouse joins the Brooks Beasts as Assistant Coach
The Seattle-based track club announced that Stackhouse is bringing 20+ years of coaching experience to the Beasts, adding that she had success at the collegiate level with both the US Air Force Academy and the University of Virginia. On the move, Stackhouse said, “I know the Beasts have high goals of climbing to the top of the mountain, and it is an honor to run alongside them in chasing their dreams.”
Elizabeth Leachman earns back to back Foot Locker cross country titles
Leachman, a high school junior from Texas, won her second straight Foot Locker national cross country title. She is the first athlete to achieve the feat since the 2016-17 seasons, and has an opportunity to be the first ever threepeat champion at next year’s race.
Stephanie Hightower gave commencement address at Ohio State University
At the Ohio State University, former USATF President Stephanie Hightower gave the commencement address at the winter graduation ceremony. Hightower was a track and field standout during her time at OSU, having earned four All-American titles, and going unbeaten in four years of competition (1977-1980) in the 60m, 60m hurdles, and the 100m hurdles.
