First championships earned at World Indoors
At the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, champions are already being crowned into the first day of competition. South Korea’s Sanghyeok Yoo won the men’s high jump (2.31m), Andy Diaz Hernandez of Italy earned the men’s triple jump title (17.80m), Jeremiah Azu from Team Great Britain is your 60m champion (6.49 seconds), Sarah Mitton won the shot put title (20.48m) for Team Canada, and Finland’s Saga Vanninen won pentathlon gold with 4821 points. Notable USA podium finishers are Chase Jackson (shot put bronze, 20.06m) and Taliyah Brooks (pentathlon bronze, 4669 points). Full results are available from World Athletics.
Diamond League matchups are being announced
As we bring the indoor season to a close, matchups for the Diamond League schedule are beginning to be announced. At the Pre Classic, competing in the Mutola 800m will be an Olympic podium rematch between Keely Hodgkinson, Tsige Duguma, and Mary Moraa. The Shanghai DL meeting has an impressive start list for the 100m, with Kishane Thompson, Letsile Tebogo, Akani Simbine, and Christian Coleman slated for the race.
Recent world records ratified by World Athletics
World Athletics has officially ratified the following world records:
Grant Fisher set a new indoor 3000 meters world record with a time of 7:22.91 at the Millrose Games in New York on February 8, 2025
Elliot Giles broke the world road mile record, clocking 3:51.3 in Düsseldorf on September 1, 2024
Yared Nuguse established a new indoor mile world record with a time of 3:46.63 at the Millrose Games in New York on February 8, 2025
Biniam Mehary set a world under-20 indoor 1500 meters record, running 3:31.04 in Toruń on February 6, 2024
Cameron Myers achieved a world under-20 indoor mile record with a time of 3:53.12 at the Dr. Sander Invitational in New York on January 25, 2025.
Nike sees 9% year over year net sales decline
Nike reported its Q3 2025 earnings with a revenue of $11.3 billion and earnings per share of 54 cents, both surpassing analysts' expectations. Despite this, the company experienced a 9% revenue decline year-over-year, with North American sales dropping 4% and Greater China sales falling 17%. The disappointing Q4 outlook led to multiple price target reductions and an early Friday stock decline of nearly 8%.
